How can we avoid transmitting gender prejudices and stereotypes to younger generations? What is the link between gender stereotypes and violence? How can we create healthy and equal relationships between boys and girls, based on consensus and empathy?

We will explore these and other questions in San Casciano in Val di Pesa (Tuscany), with a workshop for teachers, parents and educators. With simple games we will analyze how the stereotypes can influence behavior and relationships between sexes and can provoke or justify situations of abuse, exclusion and violence. Then, with forum theatre, we will try to find the appropriate language, behaviors and actions to guarantee an equal and respectful education.

The workshop takes place within the “hand in hand” convention on the recognition of differences, promotion of equal opportunities and prevention of violence.
