Human Capital is a performance that has been created with the youngsters of the CGIL’s Worker Union for the congress of Workers Representatives in Rome in March 2010. This Forum Theatre play aims to challenge representatives and gives them the opportunity to rehearse strategies to face disunion amongst workers, to deal with precariousness, lawless bosses, voracious economy and “crisis” strategies…while Human has for some become a capital !
The video shows one of the 10 scenes of the play and intervention of the audience. To see the show go directly to the 2nd minut.
4. Forum theater and dance in Kenya
This project took place in Nairobi with youngsters from the suburbs and those working with street kids. During 6 days participants were involved in dance and forum theatre trainings. The video shows the final production. The project was financed by the British Arts Council and made possible thanks to Saju Hari from the Akram Khan Company (London)
Two scenes:
1) “Malaria positive” is about prejudices that allow Aids to grow
2) “in gold we trust” is about the omnipotence of priests accusing anybody unenthusiastic of being possessed by the devil. People have to give all their money if they want to gain heaven and have “peace” in their quarter. Women have to go to the pastors house so that he can make “deep miracles into their body…”
5. Forum theater at Comores Islands
The first video part shows games and preparation to a forum in Caltex (from 0′ to 4’50).
The second one shows the different forums we would improvise everyday (from 9′ to end).
This scene has been created with youngsters in Comoro to stage their relation to the “je viens” (“I come”) the one that lives abroad, supposedly amidst richness and that has thus to make huge presents to everybody.?Lots of “je viens” don’t come anymore overwhelmed by the costs of the presents they have to make. This forum was hence a question: what relation should be build with those who have gone and come back? What should the “je viens” bring ? ??The same project took place in Marseille with the Comorian community and especially with youngsters who have renounced to their country. The forum of Marseille, and its questions, where played in Comoro. The Comorian plays where played in July when all “je viens” are around.
